Beaches
-Punta Uvita formation
This is the incredible whale’s tail like formation found inside the National Park Marino Ballena. Swimming on these waters is very safe and the water is nice and warm.

-Learn to surf
This is done both on a tour or you can rent a bard for the day at US $12. This is a great activity because the close by beach Colonia is only 3KM away and it offer frequent waves and beginner size surf.

Waterfalls
-Walk to the 1KM waterfall
At the entrance you will find a small restaurant open every day with great drinks and good food.

Attraction: two swimming holes a natural Jacuzzi and a beautiful fall, where you can sit and slide down do the swimming hole.
Cost: US $1 per person maintenance fee
Parking is 800 colones.
Difficulty: Easy
-Walk to the 2KM waterfall and cross a river
The close by waterfall, that is filled with wild life and is rarely visited.

Attraction: Natural Jacuzzi and a mid size swimming hole a beautiful waterfall.

-Walk to the 3½KM waterfall where there is a private forest reserve community owned.
Walk or drive to this remote and worth wile waterfall. Set on an organic farm this is a beautiful walk through the mountains of Uvita.

Difficulty: Difficult there is a 900 meter hike required each way.
Forest hikes
Walk to the bamboo forest.
Walk to a beautiful forest that is lined with bamboo trees. Fresh air and a possibility to see monkey and lots of birds.

-The Union road.
Walk along side a forest reserve witch inhabits lots of wildlife and is very rich in biodiversity, take a walk her in the early morning 6AM and you might see the famous Congo monkey and lots of toucans all over the canopy.

-Bejuco hike up the mountain side.
Walk to the top of the Uvita mountain range and experience one of the most beautiful views that only a few people ever experience.

Attractions: great views of the National Park Marino Ballena, Isla del Caño, National Park Corcovado, and the Terraba Sierpe mangrove system.

Bird watching

-Walk on the hotels trail system.
Enjoy the cool breeze of our forest and after the short walk enjoy some time on the hammock.

Attractions: the 200 year old Ceiba tree and the beautiful and charming forest great for bird watching.

-Walk on the Ranchos trails.
This trail system originally designed for horses is a great way to go into one of the best reserves in our area.

Other
-Mountain bike
Offered only as a do it your self- bring your own bike, but since our hotel manager is a mountain biking fan. The hotel offers guidance and information on how to go about in the area with your mountain bike. Since our mountains are so inclined we recommend that you have a certain fitness level before you send your bike to Costa Rica.
-Spanish courses
Learn the basics or redefine your Spanish while staying in a tropical paradise, Kattia will help you with all your Spanish learning needs. Your teacher Kattia will help you form the Spanish level you need to be more comfortable in a Spanish speaking country. Kattia holds a teaching degree from the National University of Costa Rica.

Uvita holds a wide variety of dental and medical offices where you can have a simple procedure to having some deep dental work done. We have a doctor on call and if you were to ever need any medical attention there are 3 clinics near our lodge one that is an EBAIS.
